This watch is a homage to the H2O KALMAR 2 OCEANIC TIME 10 MILES watch, which is known for its water resistance record. Just like the H2O watch, this Steel dive watch has a crazy claimed water resistance of 25,000 meters or 2,500 Atmospheres! Whether the Steel dive watch can actually withstand that amount of pressure is unknown. Who is Steel dive and how would they be capable of producing a watch with that kind of water resistance? As far as I can gather, the company responsible for the Steel dive brand is the Guangzhou Qin Watch Company in Guangdong, China. They are a young, ambitious watch brand that produces a range of classic homage watches inspired by famous Diver watches from the past and present. The watches are manufactured to a high quality. The Case material is made of solid 316L stainless steel. The Watch Dimensions are as follows. Case diameter is 46.5mm without the crown. The Case length is 56.5mm from lug to lug. The case thickness is 22.6mm including the sapphire glass. The Lug width is 24mm. While their website doesn’t specify the thickness of the sapphire crystal, I believe it would be in the 8mm to 10mm range. The sapphire crystal does have an AR coating. Both the crown and case back are screw down as expected. The Bezel is a 120 click Unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch resistant ceramic bezel insert. The action is very smooth and the bezel has a very pleasing sound! The only complaint is with the alignment which doesn’t align perfectly at 12 o’clock, but this is expected at this price point. The watch has a generous amount of Luminous material on the hands and hour markers. The BGW9 super luminous material has a very pleasing blue light and lasts for hours. It is powered by a reliable Japanese “NH35” movement that is faithful to the ideals and design aesthetics of the originals. The accuracy seems to be pretty good too, with mine running a few seconds slow per day. Overall, I give it 8.5 out of 10!

Great job Steeldive , think the is a superb homage to a very unusual watch … would love to see a plain bezel version too without the numbers and a Matt black ring … Just hope it’s as waterproof as you say it is as I will be diving with it ! Great job on this though.. !!!! In the top 5 in the collection now !!!!

The most I like about this brand is that they put all their effort into the product and not into the advertising. This watch came humbly packaged in a sealed cardboard box, inside a plastic case and the watch wrapped in bubble wrap. It is of solid construction, polished areas and its winding mechanism is smooth in operation. For the price, the quality is unbeatable. And not to mention the shipping, surprised by how quickly it arrived and how they had me well informed through the app shop.
